Project Background and Goal

Dunwoody College of Technology needed a gateway entrance package that read as clearly as its reputation, a technical school built on precision. The scope called for illuminated channel letters, a monument base, and architectural lighting that would welcome students and visitors to campus, day and night.

Challenges

A campus gateway sits at the intersection of a lot of stakeholders. Facilities, admissions, and the surrounding neighborhood all have a stake in how the entrance looks and functions. The site also called for lighting that performs after dark without disrupting the surrounding streetscape.

Design and Engineering

Our team engineered a face-lit channel letter package paired with a monument base and architectural lighting, drawn and engineered in-house so the finished structure would hold up to Minnesota winters and daily campus traffic.

Manufacturing and Fabrication

The channel letters, monument base, and lighting package were fabricated in our own shop, built to the same in-house standard as every Albrecht project, not handed off to a separate vendor partway through.

Installation Approach

Our crews installed the gateway package on-site, coordinating around an active campus so the entrance was ready to welcome students without disrupting their day-to-day.

Final Result and Impact

The finished gateway gives Dunwoody College of Technology a campus entrance that matches the caliber of the programs inside: illuminated, precise, and built to last.
